Since 2010, The great British pastry fair (The Great British Bake Off to the rest of the world) has adorned our television and computer screens with visions of soft bread, puff pastry crust and small pastry. Ever since it was first available on Netflix, I’ve watched the comfortable competition show as a highly anticipated sports match. Take the butter, fool! I’ll be screaming at my TV, even though I’ve seen every episode like 10 times. Although I’m not really a baker, I love a good cookbook or cookbook. We could all use a little advice with ambitious kitchen projects. Watch me show up to Thanksgiving dinner with an opera cake and five different types of biscuits. Now if only Netflix brought back the early seasons of the show so I could rewatch my favorite comfort show on an eternal loop.
In 2018, we collected 74 of the judges’ and contestants’ cookbooks from The great British pastry fair. Four years later, we’re back with even more baking and cookbooks from the tent. Whether your baking style is more rustic or more decorative, our bakers have something for you! Learn the science of baking with engineering researcher Rahul Mandal, create spooky cakes with Helena Garcia, and perfect your gluten-free baking with Peter Sawkins!
