Anna Polyviou joins This is Us bakery – hospitality

Pastry chef Anna Polyviou has joined the This Is Us team, which has opened its first store at Cherrybrook in Sydney.

The brand originally launched a range of sourdough crumpets and English muffins at Harris Farm stores, but has now branched out with a selection of sweet and savory options in a bespoke venue.

Polyviou leads the creative direction of This Is Us and has crafted a menu that encompasses some of his signature desserts, including Chocolate Fudge Cake with Chocolate Cream and Chocolate Whipped Caramel; Brownies; lemon and passion fruit tarts; berry pies and banana bread.

The coffee is from Black Market and the store also sells its crumpets, muffins and sourdough breads.

Diners can sit outside in the open-air dining room from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily and until 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays.

The move comes after Polyviou confirmed late last year that she would open her first retail store on Illawarra Road in Marrickville after leaving Shangri-La in 2020.

“What better place than Marrickville,” the chef posted on Instagram. “It has always been a dream for me and my team to be around such an amazing community.”
