Pastry chef Bianca Montijo, who has spent the last year and the change making fancy sweets and desserts for special events at the Chase Center and VIP viewing rooms, is the force behind a new dessert bar that will be open to the public this fall as the Chase Center reopens for real.

On Tuesday, the Chase Center unveiled a list of new food and drink offerings ahead of the Warriors’ season begins – and ahead of some fall concerts like a Phish Show Weekend (October 16-17) and a week-end. -end of Eagles shows (22-23 Oct). There are a total of around 50 new food items, including more vegan options than ever before, with many of them scattered across existing dealerships that you might have seen if you’ve been to a show. or a Warriors game for the few months it was open before the world closed last March.

But Ms. Montijo’s new dessert bar, Room for Dessert, looks like something people can take a special trip to find. It’s located on the lower level of the Budweiser Legends Club and offers an ice cream menu from Tin Pot Creamery, as well as milkshakes and treats made by Montijo and his team.

Montijo is the pastry chef behind the clever popcorn bucket birthday cake the Warriors made for Steph Curry in March. She arrives at the Chase Center as a senior pastry chef, after a stint at Four Seasons Koh Samui in Thailand.

And for the luxury suites at the Chase Center, Montijo made all kinds of stuff, and it looks like she developed some desserts for the dessert bar during the months stopping at the arena – like this decadent sundae in ice cream in a jar.

Montijo is also behind the big dark chocolate chip cookie which has been dubbed the Warriors Cookie – and which will also be on sale at Room for Dessert.

Room for Dessert’s menu includes rotating offers from Montijo, as well as a seasonal cheesecake, freshly made powdered mini donuts, and a hazelnut brownie.

There are also three dazzling milkshakes on the opening menu (pictured below): Banana split (strawberry ice cream, chocolate sauce, fresh bananas, whipped cream and cherry); Biscuit dubeur (vanilla ice cream, cookies and cream cookies, fresh whipped cream, cheesecake and cherry); and Vegan brownie dough (vegan chocolate ice cream, soy milk, vegan whipped cream, homemade vegan toasted vanilla marshmallow).

Some of these items seem likely to sell out on busy nights, so it’s worth heading to the Chase Center for dinner early, before the game / show starts.

The Warriors’ first preseason game at the Chase Center will take place on Friday, October 15 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
