The Sweetest Place on Earth will be in the spotlight tonight on the Food Network.
“Chocolate Meltdown: Hershey’s After Dark” is a new four-part series in which pastry chefs create “mind-blowing chocolate centerpieces”.
The show will begin at 10 p.m. on Monday, September 27.

A winner will be named at the end of each episode. Each winning chef will receive one year of Hershey’s candy, a Hersheypark vacation and $ 10,000.
Host Sunny Anderson challenges competitors to take chocolate creations to the next level, using Hershey’s favorites such as Reese’s Pieces and Twizzlers Twists in Hershey’s largest candy store, Chocolate World. while riding roller coasters and completing challenges in Hersheypark. And when the time is up, Judges Ralph Attanasia and Maneet Chauhan determine which contestant masterfully turned their favorite Hershey treats into a true work of art, crowning a champion at the end of each episode.
The show was filmed after office hours last year at Hersheypark.
The Food Network said this about tonight’s episode: âIn the first episode, a self-taught, gravity-defying pastry artist quickly runs into trouble, forcing them to adjust the design on the fly.
Meanwhile, a sugar artist nearly loses a battle against a 33-pound plate of dark chocolate, and a sculpting enthusiast uses enough Hershey candy to clear the entire store.
Upcoming episodes, the Food Network said, âinclude pastry chefs using Reese’s Pieces and Almond Joy candy to create a Scary Sci-Fi chocolate centerpiece. And contestants have their work cut out for them as they create spooky forest-themed chocolate displays incorporating Twizzlers Twists and York Peppermint Patties.
As part of the show’s premiere, Hershey’s Chocolate World, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through October 17 and Monday September 27, will give out 100 free s’mores at 11 a.m. and 11 free melted hot chocolates at 3 p.m. . at the âChocolate Meltdown: Hershey’s After Darkâ booth. Hershey said the treats were “inspired by the experiences of the show.”
