Coffee Fundraiser

Breakfast at the farm

KINGSLEY – A blueberry pancake breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to noon on August 7 at Rainbow of Hope Farm.

The menu also includes ham, baked eggs, cookies with sausage sauce, breakfast drinks and cinnamon rolls. Adults eat for $10, children for $7. Profits support residents’ community activities.

Yoga by the Bay

SUTTONS BAY – Two K Farms is hosting Yoga by the Bay at 11am on August 7 and 21 at the vineyard off the M22. A glass of cider or wine is offered with each ticket.

DIY sessions

INTERLOCHEN – Yarn Craft Work from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on August 9 at the Interlochen Public Library.

People can bring in their yarn or sewing projects from 2 to 4 p.m. This session continues every Tuesday in August.

Networking event

FRANKFURT – Rotary Charities of Traverse City presents a Connecting with Changemakers event from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on August 10 at the Benzie Shores District Library.

Local non-profit organizations, businesses, governments and community members are welcome. Coffee, pastries and fruit are provided.

History stew

TRAVERSE CITY – The Peninsula Community Library offers a stew of stories for preschoolers and younger children at 11 a.m. August 10 and 24. The stories are accompanied by songs and craft kits.

The book club gathers

ALDEN — Members of the Books ‘n Brie book club discuss Bryan Stevenson’s “Just Mercy” at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Helena Township Community Center.

Cultivated Leelanau

LAKE LEELANAU – The Leelanau Children’s Center hosts Cultivated Leelanau from 6-9 p.m. on August 31 at Aurora Cellars. Guests can enjoy a rolling farm-to-table menu, wines and music by Elizabeth Landry.

Tickets are $125 through August 11 at MyNorthTickets.com. This is a fundraiser for the children’s center.

Freedom Day

GRAWIN – Freedom Builders Missions is hosting Freedom Fest from 6-8:30 p.m. on August 17 at BlueBridge.

Dawn Fresh Catering serves food. Attendees can also speak with volunteers and learn more about Freedom Builders.

Cherry Shack Discussion

BENZONIA – A panel discusses the Cherry Hut restaurant at 7 p.m. on August 11 at Mills Community House.

The panel includes current and former employees and is moderated by Cherry Hut co-owner Christy Case. The book “From Pie Stand to Icon: The 100-Year History of The Cherry Hut” is available for purchase.

This event is part of the Benzonia Academy Lecture Series, presented by the Benzie Area Historical Society.

Cookbook available

INTERLOCHEN – The Friends of Interlochen Public Library continue their fundraising for cookbooks. “Tables of Contents” features nearly 300 recipes from community members.
