SAGINAW, MI – A new restaurant brings a taste of New Orleans to Saginaw.
“We are an okra company and specialize in authentic Louisiana Creole okra,” said Janel Turner, owner and chef of Kreole Queenz, who moved to Michigan from New Orleans with her husband, Sidney Turner. , few years ago.
Kreole Queenz opened on October 27 at the SVRC Marketplace in downtown Saginaw. Janel Turner said she has been cooking her whole life and is thrilled to open her first restaurant.
Menu offerings include “Uptown Gumbo,” made with seafood, and “Downtown Gumbo,” made with chicken and sausage, but that’s not all.
“We have jambalaya. We have seafood pasta. We have kidney beans and rice. And we also have our signature praline candy; it’s a Louisiana decline, ”she said.
The restaurant is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday inside the SVRC Marketplace, 203 S. Washington Ave. He joins other market vendors including Saigon Sandwich Co., Makin ‘Bacon, Delicious Sweets Bakeshop, Mini Donut Delight Factory, and others.
