Neck Neck, Bombay. The Oberoi opens its first independent pastry shop at BKC

In French, Cou Cou is an informal way of saying: “Hello, how are you?”. In Mumbai, a brand new French-style pastry shop uses salute, with a side of delicious pastries. The Oberoi Group has opened its first independent food and drink outlet at Jio World Drive, Bandra Kurla Complex, a pastry shop that promises a culinary Tour de France, serving everything from pastries to wine.

From warm, flaky croissants and quiches to gourmet cakes, gourmet homemade ice creams and handmade chocolates, Cou Cou brings a slice of France to Mumbai. The men behind the delicacies are Chef Pierre Storti, who brings expertise in pastry making and bread baking from establishments like The Ritz London to the pastry shop, and pastry chef Pratik Deshmukh of Oberoi Hotels and Resorts.

The restaurant space in the mall includes small and large tables, with sofas and chairs, so you can enjoy pastries comfortably, regardless of the size of the group. White mosaic tiles, salmon pink fluting, and delicate fixtures will make you feel like you are at a cafe in Paris and the catering offerings will only take the experience to the next level.

There are also finely worked fruit pies, coffee puffs, macaroons, sweet and savory thin wafer pancakes, scented candies, baguettes, toast … If you are looking for healthy options, you can opt for fresh salads or healthy sandwiches. Pair your treats with the coffees, teas and juices of your choice or go one step further and grab a glass (or bottle!) Of sparkling wine.
