Olive and Pine tenants at Avondale Estates to include boba tea restaurant, gym center – Decaturish


Avondale Estates, Georgia — The team behind the Olive and Pine development at Avondale Estates has announced several new tenants for the mixed-use project.

The tenants include a boba tea restaurant and a gym center, according to a press release. The project is expected to open this fall.

“Located at 6 Olive Street, a few blocks from Avondale Estates Town Green and adjacent to Little Tree Art Studios, OLIVE & PINE is a mixed-use complex with a historic background located in the heart of the entertainment district of Avondale Estates.” says a press release from the development team. “This 25,000 square foot mixed-use project focuses primarily on the adaptive reuse of the 1950s warehouse with new design elements that merge the characters of the existing building and new architectural elements.”

The project is a venture between Tin Drum Asian Kitchen founder Steven Chan, Metro Green Construction chairman Cole Vickers, Andrew Rutledge and Danny England, principles of architectural firm Office of Design. Oakhurst Realty Partners handles the rental.

Atlanta (June 16, 2022) – OLIVE & PINE, an adaptive reuse of a 60-year-old industrial complex by 6 Olive Development, will bring a slate of community-focused businesses to Avondale Estates when the project opens this fall .

LEFTIE LEE’S Bakery and Sandwiches

Leftie Lee’s is a bakery and sandwich shop offering a globally inspired menu rooted in traditional techniques. Stop and grab a homemade pastry for breakfast or an artisan sandwich for lunch or weekend brunch.

Vivian Lee’s professional kitchen experience includes everything from baking breads and pastries from scratch to cooking in acclaimed restaurants in New York, Boston and Atlanta. A triple major in fine art, landscape architecture and international baking, Vivian merges her diverse artistic background into her craft, first as a baker and night pastry chef at Danny Meyer’s NYC Maialino, located in the Gramercy Park Hotel. Vivian then honed her baking skills at Clear Flour Bread and developed her love for sandwiches at Cutty’s, both in Boston. A career highlight was cooking at the prestigious James Beard House in New York with the team at Osteria Mattone and Table & Main of Roswell, GA. Hailing from the New York area, Atlanta has become a place Vivian calls home.

POP UP by Vivian Lee

POP UP offers a space equipped with a full kitchen and an appropriate dining experience for pop-up chefs and cooking enthusiasts. A short-lived chef for many years, Vivian understands the challenge of working in substandard conditions due to restricted resources. POP UP by Vivian Lee’s mission is to provide young talent and small businesses with a platform and mentorship to thrive, work towards opening their own restaurants or earn extra income.


The Little Gym is the world’s premier children’s development program. He teaches gymnastics-based classes to children ages 4 months to 12 years old. All classes are designed to reach the developmental milestones of each specific age group while developing each child’s physical, social and emotional skills. Birthday parties and summer camps are also offered. The Little Gym is the springboard to the adventures of life!

The Little Gym of Avondale Estates is owned and operated by Jane Mills and Stephanie Hinnant. Jane has a strong background in gymnastics and dance and has been teaching for over 20 years. Jane started with The Little Gym in 2005 and this will be her third location. Stéphanie also has a background in competitive gymnastics. Stephanie was previously Director of Little Gym of Snellville, a position she held for over 15 years.


BRISK is equal parts soft serve lounge, light meal stand and micro vending machine. It’s a “people” company, made up of a group of mostly restaurant industry employees who always work hard for their bosses but never thought owning anything was possible for them and their families.

BRISK serves three types of products: (1) fun soft drinks and beverages for the whole family, (2) small to medium meals for on the go, smart and affordable, and (3) sale items ranging from fresh snacks to daily medication.


Akasa Salon was launched in 2014 and has locations in Old Forth Ward, Grant Park and now Avondale Estates. This is a full-service hair salon that is home to many independent stylists who offer services for all hair types in addition to other salon services. Akasa also sells local products, CBD, and offers hair products from Evo and Davines.

Adrianne Smith is the owner of Akasa Salon. Adrianne is originally from Georgia and currently resides in East Lake with her husband and new baby girl. She has worked in the field of hair beauty for 20 years. Adrianne is an avid traveler who loves yoga and a healthy lifestyle.


Since 2004, the Office of Design team has been creating thriving environments and enhancing experiences through purposeful design. Bringing incremental yet realistic innovation and imagination to every project is the foundation of the company. Office of Design provides exceptional design services to owners and developers working in multi-family, municipal and hotel/retail environments. Through collaboration and communication, OoD develops lasting relationships based on timeless design and ongoing customer engagement.

With over 40 years of design experience between firm partners Andy Rutledge and Danny England, Office of Design has the expertise and knowledge to push the boundaries of every client.

Wonderful World is an all-day cafe and tea room with a varied drinks menu and community concierge. It will serve craft coffee, refreshments and craft boba tea alongside Leftie Lee’s Bakery. It is designed to be a comfortable gathering place for the community to have conversations.

WW room

the WW room is a space for word, sound and image. It is loosely inspired by the work of David Sylvian, an English musician, writer and artist. The mission of the WW room is to explore contemporary topics and issues through various forms of medium. The inaugural program will be David Sylvian: A Man of No Significance. It will feature a comprehensive collection of David’s solo and collaborative works spanning the past four decades with artwork, reading and listening sessions. It will explore, through David’s suggestive point of view, a world of personal and social struggles, conflict and hope. WW Room booking will be handled by WW House, an all-day coffee and tea room with a varied drinks menu and community concierge.


Future event

July 24e Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Olive & Pine will host a pop-up brunch in the parking lot adjacent to the weekly Avondale Estates Sunday Market. There will be between 6 and 8 pop-up food and drink vendors showcasing their wares to the hungry crowd.
