Rustic Buffalo Craft Market

Mel visited the Rustic Buffalo Craft Market in northern Tonawanda. Rustic Buffalo is made up of over 110 artisans. Rustic Buffalo Market co-owner John Pirrone says we’ve come together and created this amazing shopping experience. He says Rustic Buffalo has artisans who make glassware and do all kinds of signs, we have clothes, we have a metal artist and a concrete artist, any kind of artist you can think of us the have, and this is just the most amazing thing; everything is eclectic and everything is local, which is what I like the most.

Ashley Erickson, owner of Vintage Boutique @ Rustic Buffalo, says everyone mostly creates their own items and it’s a wonderful thing when you can have a story behind the product you bought from an artisan.

The idea for Rustic Buffalo came from COVID. John Pirrone says we had so many friends who weren’t able to sell their wares, weren’t able to sell their wares, and were shut down completely due to the lack of craft fairs, holiday fairs or something like that. John and his business partner Scott thought they could open a store and create something totally unique for these people and that’s exactly what they did.

John says we’re not just a shopping experience, we’re a destination. He says people come here for hours and we need something like coffee, such gourmet food for people to be here. The cafe offers fresh sandwiches, fresh pasta salads which are brought daily. John says they’re not made on site, but brought in every day. Everything is fresh in their bakery, Italian bread, cookies, brownies and they are going to have the famous cocoa bombs. John says cocoa bombs are a hit this Christmas season.

When asked how she enjoys being a part of this community, Ashley says she loves it. She says I think we’re all connected in a way that we’ve almost become a family and all lean on each other, but it’s so wonderful because now more than ever we need it. , so it’s a beautiful thing here.

Rustic Buffalo Artisan Market is located at 6610 Shawnee Road in North Tonawanda.
