Sprinkles Cupcakes to honor female chefs – NBC Los Angeles

Cupcakes can hold multitudes, or rather they are incredible, crispy, creamy, icing-covered canvases that easily and tastefully display a chef’s creativity, wit and skill, in one delicious and memorable bite.

That “easily” doesn’t mean that putting a new spin on a classic candy just comes, but rather that a cupcake fan can instantly fall in love with a frosting-covered treat, which has a lot of work, maybe, to do. and the passion we put into it.

Honoring these perfect baking pros is a good thing, in short, as is enjoying the great (feeling good) treats they’ve created. And Asparagusthe cupcake shop launched in SoCal, does exactly that, out of three mmm-full months, all to spotlight some of the superstars of modern cuisine.

It’s the Sprinkles Female Chef series, and it officially launched on March 1, the first day of Women’s History Month.

Four chefs will be honoured, with Top Chef winner Brooke Williamson leading in March. Chef Williamson’s Dark Chocolate Passion Fruit Cupcake, which will raise funds for Step Up, will be available at all Sprinkles Cupcake locations from March 1-13.

The cupcake, which “…features a passion fruit curd in the center of a rich chocolate cake with dark chocolate frosting,” is priced at $6.

“As someone who started out in the baking world, it’s an honor to partner with a brand like Sprinkles, who have always been committed to giving back and making an impact, not to mention while making delicious treats,” Williamson shares.

“It was exciting to partner with them on International Women’s Day and celebrate the incredible women in our industry, while inspiring young girls to achieve their dream – a cause close to my heart – through of the StepUp organization.”

For barbecue lovers, June’s choice of star chefs will provide a tangy thrill: The Savory Scone, from Austinites LeAnn Mueller and Alison Clem from the Barbecue, will be the star of the Female Chef series.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Pride Month with the launch of our Sprinkles savory scone and appreciate the opportunity to support the LGBTQIA+ community through this collaboration which benefits Allgo, a non-profit organization that nurtures and celebrates people. queer people of color,” Mueller and Clem said.

“It’s also an honor to be able to share some of our unique Texas flair with Sprinkles fans around the world.”

And in September? Look for a delicious pecan Glorias cupcake from Top Chef contestant Claudette Zepeda.

“As a former pastry chef, this is a turning point for me in my professional career. I am honored to be part of this series, representing my country alongside Sprinkles, a company that has shaken up our industry and shows what can be done with a dream and persistence,” Zepeda shared.

“The fiercest fuel of my motivation is to honor the generational power that women have gone before us. I hope to empower the next generation of Latinas, a cause the Hispanic Heritage Foundation champions every day.”

Sprinkles will reveal the specific June and September dates when Savory Scone and Glorias cupcakes will be available in the coming months.
