A panel of judges examined 1,200 products – ranging from books to donuts – vying for glory in HE-B’s annual search for best new Lone Star State merchandise.
Called The Grocer’s Quest for Texas Best, the competition aims to identify the best new products made in Texas.
In two qualifying rounds, submissions were judged on taste and flavor, customer appeal, value, uniqueness, market potential and differentiation of current products in HEB stores, according to HEB. Four Texan brands went on to be champions.
“Each year we are amazed at what the Texans bring to this competition. Despite the disruption of COVID-19, these entrepreneurs have shown creativity, determination and perseverance in continuing to grow their businesses, ”said James Harris, Director of Diversity and Inclusion and Diversity suppliers, HEB. “HEB is delighted to highlight these four exceptional companies and their Texan-made products that will add to the variety of products on our shelves and our list of suppliers. “
