Calling all ghouls and goblins who love to gobble up treats: Halloween season is in full swing in and around Vancouver, which means tons of tempting food and treats. We’re talking devilishly decadent delicacies like mummy-themed puffed pancakes or one-day exclusive treats like a fried chicken sandwich monster. You will even find some local spots inspired by the Netflix hit. Squid game scare fun things to eat for Halloween.

To bring their “frighteningly delicious” ghost chocolate flavor to life, the Vancouver ice cream shop has teamed up with East Van Roasters to put together some intriguing ingredients this spooky season. Use their daily flavor list to see where it’s going.

Devilish dessert preparations are in full swing at Kafka. House pastry chef Adi Kesslemen lives up to her sweet tips, conjuring up mouth-watering treats that will leave you spellbound. Satisfy your crazy cravings this Halloween with otherworldly chocolate cupcakes filled with salted caramel and topped with sinful Swiss meringue buttercream; charming sugar cookies disguised as bats, pumpkins and ghosts; and incredibly delicious Alfajores draped in dark chocolate cobwebs. Claim these spooky treats before they vanish at one of Kafka’s three locations (Main, Great Northern Way, and Gastown); they are available from October 25 to 31.

Mon Paris

Burnaby’s Mon Paris has a Halloween lineup that includes a charming milk chocolate pumpkin as well as cute pumpkin chocolate lollipops.

In this wickedly creative pastry shop, the Team Spooky mini set returns this year with Wicked Witch (hazelnut praline with sesame and cherry); the Mummy (made from caramelized apple, chestnut cream and vanilla cookie); Pumpkin (pumpkin cheesecake with pineapple compote and chocolate shortbread); and Darkness (Ovaltine and cabbage in raspberry compote with sesame streusel). Additionally, Buttermere also created two cakes designed based on the recent popular Netflix series, Squid game. The two indisputable visual representations of the captivating series, The Masked cake, a praline sesame and hazelnut cake, features the shapes featured on player invitations and game warden masks while the Player’s Coffin cake, a twisted version of the game. ‘a traditional tiramisu, directly displays the eventual fate of all players except one – death. Buttermere Halloween treats are available to pre-order on the Buttermere website for delivery or pickup on October 29, 30, and 31. Delivery is available within the Greater Vancouver Regional District and pickup can be arranged at Buttermere Café or Torafuku during business hours.

Meet the Monster Squad! It’s Beta5’s Halloween squad of “scream” cabbages (aka cream puffs) and other Halloween-themed goodies. There’s Pumpkin Pete, Kandi Corn, and Matcha Mo ready to roll, along with adorable monster chocolate lollipops and a bar called “Strange Things”. To score these cream puffs, however, you will need to place an order; they’re available in a three-pack pre-assembled, for pickup or delivery, until Sunday, October 31.

West Vancouver’s popular European-inspired boutique and café unveils a new collection of decadent sweets that will bring a smile to costume kids and pumpkin fans alike this season. For Halloween, Temper’s signature line includes a line of milk and dark chocolate lollipops, assorted bite-sized “fry” bags in a variety of shapes and larger pieces filled with delicious candy. Throughout the fall season, Team Temper will also serve a variety of desserts and baked goods and fall specialty drinks including: pumpkin scones; Spiced Pumpkin Lattes; a pumpkin cheesecake infused with pumpkin and fall spices on a chocolate cookie crumble crust; and a traditional pumpkin pie, topped with a light and airy Chantilly cream. Temper’s signature Halloween treats will be available exclusively for in-store purchase at the Dundarave Boutique from now through Sunday, October 31 or while supplies last. As this year’s Spooktacular candies are handcrafted in limited quantities, guests are encouraged to pick up their candy for the treat crowd early to avoid disappointment.

Every year, the Fufu Pancake Cafe makes a cookie and cream puff pancake just for Halloween. This year’s star pancake will be called Mummy n ‘Scream Souffle Pancake. The dish includes three stacked puffs, Oreo Cookie Whipped Cream, Cream Cheese Whipped Cream, Dark Chocolate Spookie Eyes, Homemade Strawberry Sauce, Oreo Crumbs, Ice Cream with vanilla and orange nuggets. It’s available now through October 31.

Boba Run will launch the full Squid game this year. On October 30 and 31, every customer who purchases a dalgona drink (aka Honeycomb) will receive a free Squid Game-themed dalgona cookie, while supplies last. Staff will also be disguised as authority figures from Squid Game and will encourage customers to come in disguises and ready to take selfies. Boba Run Honeycomb Dalgona Latte features Korean honeycomb caramel crumbs served on your choice of milk. The caramel melts and oozes into your drink, creating a rich “caramelized” flavor. You can also add a dose of espresso, matcha, hojicha, and genmaicha for an extra shot of coffee.


The Vancouver-born chocolate legend still scares delicious Halloween-themed treats every year, and 2021 is no exception. They have chocolate-laden “Survive the Night” kits, haunted house themed boxes, and ogre and zombie eyeballs for spooky candy. Other fall items include fall leaf chocolates, or a golden chocolate pumpkin, and more.

Get spooky this Halloween with the sweet treats from Many Bakery. These include: Monster Bonbons in three flavors (chewy pumpkin caramel with crunchy pecan praline, apple cider fruit paste with lime and chestnut marshmallow with whiskey ganache); Spooky Canelé (spicy pumpkin cream with a crispy exterior and a creamy interior); and the Bone Appetit Croissant (two-tone croissant filled with a spicy pumpkin mascarpone cream, garnished with pieces of honeycomb). Trick-or-treaters can pre-order online now for pickup October 25-31. Limited quantities available for walk-in people as well.

For one day only on Halloween (October 31), Downlow Burgers’ popular Monster Mash is back, featuring a dry-aged beef patty, boneless fried chicken thigh (medium spicy), slices of pork belly crispy fries, a homemade jalapeño ranch, Canadian Cheddar, lettuce and tomato. Peachy Hollow is a peach and blood orange green tea infusion energized with Red Bull The Peach Edition â„¢ and activated charcoal for even more pleasure.
